Old Friends

The five of us got together at CPK the last night we were in town in Nashville. It was good to laugh over old stories and catch up on where everybody is now. Congratulations Cam on your recent engagement!

Jesse

This was shortly after I witnessed Jesse rolling over for the first time in his life! Way to go Jesse!!

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Brentwood with the whole family. McLean and I got to meet Jesse for the first time! Jesse and Evie were both sleeping when we took this picture.

After lunch, we went to the bottom of the hill for a game a Ultimate Frisbee. McLean, Dave, and Dad won by one point against me, Mike, and Andrew. Reminds me of the college days!

First Soccer Game Drumline Performance

dThe Drumline played the first half of the girls soccer game this past week! It was our first soccer game performance, and the team won 5-1. Go Saints!!!

3rd Anniversary

Happy 3rd Anniversary! It's crazy how fast time flies, but I've loved every minute of it. We went to Ocean Prime for dinner, and it was pretty much the best meal of our lives. McLean got the sea bass and I got the ribeye. We topped it off with a 10-layer carrot cake and chocolate and peanut butter french dessert on the house. They treated us like royalty! Here's to another year of being besties. I love you!

HS Produce Baseball

The first HUB this year the high school met out at Davis Island for a game of produce baseball. Everyone got pretty messy by the end of the night. Here is a before and after picture of the whole group.

MS Scavenger Hunt

Yeah, that's right. See the team holding up #1 on the right? WINNERS!!! Finally after 4 years of competing in the middle school scavenger hunt, my team comes out victorious :)

Rock the Universe 2012

This is the group that we took to Rock the Universe this year! It was McLean's first time to drive a 15-passenger van, and she was a pro. I think we had a total of 73 people on the trip!

Greenville

McLean and I went to Greenville, South Carolina the other weekend for Claire and Chasen Born's wedding. The Greenes let us stay in their house in Traveler's Rest, which the AC broke right before we got there. Some of the fun places we went were Leopard Forest, Lazy Goat, Brick Street Cafe, Stax, Coffee Underground, Sobe's, and of course, our alma mater Furman University!

Official Masters Diploma

It's official!!! I got my diploma in the mail this week confirming that I have a Masters in Education from The University of Tampa. Woohoo!!!

Boca Grande

McLean took this picture of me fishing in Boca Grande on the last night. The beauty of this sunset made me want to worship God forever. "One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord." Psalm 27:4 

First Snook

This was my first snook I ever caught! Gantt, Mr. Rorebeck, and I caught a lot of fish while we we were in Boca Grande. Snook, trout, mackerel, catfish, pinfish, and Gantt even caught a bird!

Master Murphy

I graduated from the University of Tampa today with a Masters in Education! From this day on, I will go by Master Murphy :)

Last Day of Grad School!!!

Today is my last class for my Masters of Education at the University of Tampa. Even though it was a challenging year, the time flew by pretty quickly. I can't believe I finally made it to the end! Thank you Lord for giving me the strength and endurance that I needed along the way, and I give you the praise for this accomplishment.

My 27th Birthday

I turned 27 this year, and I got my first lantern! I don't know why I've always had a fascination with lanterns, but I just think they are so cool. The candle inside is even battery operated and flickers like a real candle for 5 hours! This way I can keep it in the barn without worrying about it catching fire to anything. 

Grandma Turns 90!

Here is a picture of the whole group (all 25 of us) who attended Grandma's 90th birthday party. It was a special day to have all the Murphys and all the Bosworths in one place at the same time. Grandma had a blast!

First Rays Game

This was my first Rays game! We ate a bloomin' onion, cheese fries, and chicken fingers from Outback Steakhouse inside the park. Patrick and I had hot dogs and ice cream in the 7th inning. Our group got on the jumbo tron, and we almost caught a home run. Overall, it was a great game and the Rays won 4-2.

McLean's 25th Birthday

McLean turned 25 this year, and this picture was taken when we went over to her parents' house on Sunday. I threw a surprise party for her on Tuesday and this is a picture of the group who came. We had balloons, posters, and a cookie cake! The best part was that she had no clue it was coming. It was her first surprise party ever, and it was perfect.

Manesota Key

This was our view from the back porch while we stayed at a beach house in Manesota Key, Florida. Some friends of ours let us stay at their beach house for a few days, and it was amazing!

Paul was so excited when he got to the park that he bodyslammed me trying to jump into my arms. We both went to the nurse and got these really cool bandages.

This is the whole group that went to Adventure Island with the HUB yesterday. It was my first time to go, and I had a lot of fun.

McLean and I went to Amelia Island, FL, this past weekend for Kendall and Alex Critcher's wedding. This picture was taken at the rehearsal dinner, and McLean read a scripture verse in the wedding.

Last Day of School Year 2012

Thank you Lord for another incredible year at St. Mary's. As I look back on my last three years there, I feel like I have been there much longer. I have really come to love the place and the people there so much. I feel like I have grown a ton as a teacher since my first year, and I have learned a ton about myself and how I operate as an adult. It's very different being on the other side of the classroom. I love the challenge of teaching and striving to be the best teacher I can be.

I finish up my Masters of Education at the University of Tampa this summer! Speaking of challenges, that has definitely been one for me this year. Night classes twice a week from 6-9 pm just about did me in a few times. I give you the credit God for giving me the strength and energy to get through those classes. I never thought I would go back to school after I completed my undergrad at Furman, but God I guess you had different plans for me. Thank you for using St. Mary's to give me this opportunity.

The 8th graders have their commencement ceremony tonight. I am definitely going to miss this class a lot. I am praying about how to continue a Bible study with them next year as they go into their first year of high school. Jesus, I pray that you will shine through them so that they can be light wherever they go. Remind them that you are the one who gives life to the full, and I pray that they will discover who they are as Christians and who they are as men. Continue to use me to help point them to you.

I'm about to go to our last faculty meetings of the school year. Thank you so much Lord for my role in this school and the health you have given me to do this job. Without you I am nothing.

Last Day of 6th Grade Math Class 2012

I always dismiss every math class with my 6th graders by yelling "Are you a mathematician?", and they scream back "We are!!!" This video captures the last one of the year.

Concert Band Final Performance 2012

This was our final performance for concert band this year. On the instruments, we played "When the Saints Go Marching In", "Harry Potter", "Viva La Vida", "Amazing Grace", and "Auld Lang Syne". On the drums, we played "Are You Ready/Go Saints!", "Two Tenors", "Say Can I Get A One Two", "French Fries and Coke", "Haitian Hustle", "LeRoy", "Fight Til You Win", and "Drumbeats 8". This video is just a small sample of the concert. I am very proud of how far the concert band and drumline have both come in just a year and a half!

Last Bible Study

This was our last Bible study of the year with the 8th grade guys. It was a great way to finish off the year with an all out water war!

Pythagorean Theorem

I taught my math class the Pythagorean Theorem last week, and they made these posters to show how it is derived. I thought this was a pretty cool idea! Who says math can't be fun?

Fine Arts Night 2012

Horeshoes

These are my horseshoes hanging on my barn. I love that they say Franklin on them because that is where I grew up playing horseshoes at Coach Gentry's farm. I guess I just get nostalgic sometimes thinking about those days :)

My Legacy

As a Christian, my standards are set by Christ who embodies all the characteristics of God. I know that I will be held accountable for my actions when I die one day, but I know that Jesus’ righteousness will cover me because He is Lord and Savior of my life. This is where my hope comes from, and I find my greatest significance when I am living my life for Him. The legacy that I hope to leave behind is one that points others to Christ.
