Bucs Game
This is the group of guys that went to the Bucs game against the Detroit Lions this past Sunday. Unfortunately, the Bucs lost in over time, but we had some of the best seats in the house: Club and Suite tickets on the 30 yard line!!!

Jingle Bell Rock
Click here to watch this video of the male faculty at St. Mary's performing "Jingle Bell Rock". I was playing the piano and singing in a microphone off stage. (You see me at the very end!)

Thanksgiving
This picture was taken at the Opryland Hotel while we were visiting my family in Nashville for Thanksgiving. Mom had bought tickets for this event called "Snow", but it was not quite like the advertisements described. It involved a patch of artificial snow that had hardened into ice and an outside barn that sold souvineers and hot chocolate. It was freezing that night, but we tried to make the most of it.

Come Home
I wrote this song one weekend when McLean went out of town. I guess you could say I was missing her and was ready for her to come home. The song pretty much speaks for itself. Hope you like it!

Halloween 2010
The high school youth group came over to our house to carve pumpkins on the weekend before Halloween. McLean and I left on Thursday to go to Jordan and Jerod's wedding in Fairhope, Alabama. When we got back, the pumpkins had all completely caved in, grown some kind of a funky mold, and smelled horrible. Good times!

My Hero
Coach Gentry is definitely one of my biggest heroes. I got to know him at Brentwood Experience Camp as the camp director. I went there as a camper from ages 9-13, and I worked there as a counselor from ages 14-20. Coach Gentry helped shape the man that I am today, and he will always be on my list of heroes in my life.

Dream Come True
I am now officially a math teacher! I've always dreamed of having this job my whole life. Ever since I won the math award 3 years straight in Middle School. Ever since I got a 5 on my AP Calculus test in High School. Ever since I spent countless hours in College trying to do problems I had no clue how to solve. I'm finally here! I'm teaching Algebra 1 to eleven 8th graders, and I'm loving it!

Granddaddy
This picture was taken of me and Granddaddy on my wedding day. Yesterday, I found out that he had a heart attack over the past weekend. This morning, he underwent a triple bypass surgery, and I just found out that he is in the recovery room right now and doing well. Dear Lord, please be with my Granddaddy and help him through this time. Bring healing and rest as he begins this long recovery process.

Guys Weekend
Alex Reiners came to Tampa, and we had a fun guys weekend. We went to Channelside and saw "Inception." Awesome movie! Then, we bowled a couple games at Splittsville and had some Cheeseburger and Steak Sliders for dinner. I told our waitress that we knew the General Manager, Michael, and I asked if he could stop by our table before the night was over. Five minutes later, he came up, shook our hands, and said he would take care of us. He reserved a bowling lane just for us and made sure our service was excellent. It was good to hang out with Reins, and we both had a blast this weekend.

Beach Ball War
This was a game that we made up while we were in Destin, FL. The idea is to knock your opponent off of their beach ball and stay on your own beach ball the longest.

Our First House
Our first house! This was an exciting day because we finally signed all of the paperwork, and the house now belongs to us. It is a great feeling to finally have a home that we can make our own. We've almost finished painting all the rooms, but I haven't even touched the yard. I've mowed the grass a couple times, but that's about it. I love our new house!

Southwind 2010
McLean and I just spent a whole week at Southwind in Ocklawaha, FL. In this picture, we were dressed up for Pirate and Princess night. BJ wrote "McLean's Man" on each of my arms and also a shield and a heart to show that I am here to guard and protect her heart(from the Bachelorette:) BJ and I had 14 boys in our cabin "Sand Key," and McLean had 16 girls in her cabin. Over the course of the week, BJ was limping from a bruised femur, McLean was limping from a scraped toe, and I was limping from an ant bite on my foot because I am extremely allergic. Besides that, the week was incredible! The message got through to everyone that Jesus really wants a relationship with you.
Destin and Dave's Visit to Tampa
Last weekend, the Murphy family all met in Destin, FL. It was the first time that McLean and I got to meet our nephew, Isaiah(pictured in the middle)! He actually took his first steps later on that week! It was fun to be with the whole family, and the trip went very fast. Afterwards, Dave drove down to Tampa and stayed with us a few days, and he was the first guest to ever stay in our house. We went bowling one night with some of the Middle School HUB kids. The next day, we took some trash to a landfill, and what should have taken only about 10 minutes ended up taking about 3 hours because Google Maps was wrong, and nobody we asked knew how to help us! The best part of it all was stopping at a BP gas station and buying some of the greasiest fried chicken we'd ever had. The next day, we spent the whole day at Busch Gardens and rode each ride about 2 times. We picked a good day to go because there was no one there. It was good to spend time with just Dave, and I'm so glad he made the trip down.

Survived My First Year!
I survived my first year of teaching!!! I can now officially say that I have been a middle school teacher for one year, and I loved it! It was a lot of hard work and sometimes I thought my brain was going to explode from learning so much, but I will always treasure the experiences I have had this past year at St. Mary's. I loved coaching volleyball, basketball, and baseball, and I really enjoyed teaching my 2 Language Enrichment classes, 3 Math Enrichment classes, and my Computer class all year. I even got to use my musical gifts in the Praise Band! Perhaps what I will treasure the most, though, are all of the relationships that I've made and the lives I've encountered this past year. There are too many to list by name, but each person has had such a significant influence on my life. I really do love teaching. Thank you God for letting me have this dream job. You knew all along that this is where I was supposed to be, and now I know that too.
